Esperance de Tunis secured their place in the CAF Champions League semi-finals after a 3–2 win against Al Ahly in Cairo, progressing on aggregate  4-2.

The Egyptian side made a strong start, with Trezeguet opening the scoring in the 10th minute to give Al Ahly early control of the match.

Esperance responded in the second half through Florian Danho, who equalized in the 68th minute to bring the Tunisian side back into the tie.

The visitors then took the lead after being awarded a penalty, converted by Mohamed Tougai to make it 2–1 and put Esperance in a strong position.

Al Ahly once again found a way back into the match, leveling the score 2-2 to set up a tense finish.

However, Esperance had the final word. In stoppage time, Jelassi rose highest to meet a cross and headed home in the 90th minute, securing a 3–2 win on the night and confirming qualification.

With the result, Esperance advance to the semi-finals, where they will face the winner of the quarter-final tie between Mamelodi Sundowns and Stade Malien who will play tomorrow.

The Tunisian giants showed resilience away from home, navigating a difficult start in Cairo to secure their place among the final four of the competition.
