Rabat – The Senegalese Football Federation has reacted with clear frustration after CAF’s Appeal Board ruled that Senegal forfeited the AFCON 2025 final against Morocco.
The decision officially awarded Morocco a 3-0 victory and confirmed them as African champions, a result that has been difficult for Senegal to accept.
Shortly after the announcement, the federation shared a video on its official Facebook page showing players celebrating the title with fans on an open-top bus.
The post appeared to reflect their attachment to the trophy and their rejection of the ruling.
Despite the reaction, the process is not fully closed yet.
Senegal now has 10 days from the date of CAF’s decision to file an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). This is the final legal step available to challenge the ruling.
CAS is the highest authority in sports disputes, and its decision will be final and cannot be appealed further.
For now, CAF’s verdict stands, with Morocco officially recognized as AFCON 2025 winners under tournament regulations.
The coming days will be crucial, as Senegal must decide whether to take the case to CAS or accept the outcome.
