Rabat – The Moroccan embassy in Spain and all consulates general renewed their commitment to continue serving members of the Moroccan diaspora and safeguarding their interests as an absolute priority.

In a recent statement, the embassy said central services of the Moroccan Foreign Affairs Ministry held an online coordination meeting with the embassy in Madrid and the 12 consulates general accredited across Spain.

The embassy mentioned that the meeting is part of ongoing engagement with the consular network to ensure rigorous monitoring of the services provided to the Moroccan community living abroad and improving their quality.

The meeting was followed by several measures, including extending working and public reception hours until 6 p.m. instead of 3 p.m. from Monday to Friday.

Duty shifts will also concern the weekend and public holidays, the embassy announced, stressing that the measures aim to enable all individuals with appointments to complete procedures in the best possible conditions.

The embassy further pledged to maintain continuous mobilization of consular staff, who are required to remain on constant alert to respond to citizens’ needs.

Moroccans make up one of the largest foreign communities in Spain. The number of Moroccans affiliated with social security in the country reached 373,436 in 2025.

The number sets a new record, making Moroccans the largest foreign community in terms of social security contributions, ahead of Romanians and Colombians.

The number of Moroccan contributors increased by 26,839 in 2025, strengthening the diaspora’s position as one of the highest growth rates among major nationalities.
