Morocco Futsal Team Claim International Championship in Berkane

Rabat – Morocco’s national futsal team secured the Berkane International Tournament title in style on Tuesday, following their 6-0 over Libya.

The game took place at the Prince Moulay El Hassan Indoor Hall in Berkane, as part of the second and final round of the Berkane International Tournament.

By using a round-robin format, the tournament allowed the players to experience different playing styles and tactics, which helped them prepare for the upcoming African championship.

Soufiane El Mesrar led the charge with a brace, while teammates Idriss Raiss El Fenni, Ismail Amazal, Mohamed Reda Madih, and Youssef Ben Sellam each added a goal to complete the six-goal rout.

The national team controlled the game from kickoff, displaying superior tactical organization and offensive power, leaving the Libyan squad unable to find their rhythm.

Strong in defense and clinical in attack, the Atlas Lions proved they are in peak form. This performance is a clear sign that the team is ready for the next continental and global events.

Following an earlier 7-1 victory over Cape Verde, this second straight victory allows the national futsal team to finish the friendly tournament undefeated.

Throughout the tournament, Morocco scored 13 goals in just two games and only let in one, finishing with a perfect record of two wins, zero losses, and a trophy.

This victory serves as a significant morale booster for the squad. As the host nation for the 2026 Futsal AFCON this October, Morocco is under immense pressure to defend its continental crown.
