Rabat – FIFA President Gianni Infantino has celebrated Morocco’s Atlas Lions following their historic triumph at the FIFA Arab Cup.

In a post on social media, Infantino described Morocco as the “champions of the Arab world” after a thrilling match against Jordan.

He said the game entertained 84,517 passionate fans at the Lusail Stadium.

“It was wonderful to have the company of the HRH Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani; HRH Crown Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II of Jordan; Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani; and Minister of Sport, @abdulaziztf, among others, for this fantastic evening,” he said.

He also congratulated Qatar on organizing the  “fantastic tournament.”

Morocco defeated Jordan in extra time 3-2 on Thursday, giving the country its second Arab Cup trophy.
