Rabat – Abdelatif Hammouchi, Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, hosted on Thursday Tomasz Siemoniak, Poland’s Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister in charge of coordination between Poland’s security services and special agencies.

Siemoniak, heading a high-level delegation and accompanied by the Polish Ambassador to Morocco, discussed with Hammouchi ways to consolidate and support security partnership areas between Morocco and Poland.

During the bilateral talks, both sides addressed numerous issues of mutual interest, including enhancing coordination and exchanging information on illegal migration, securing border points, operational cooperation, and mutual technical assistance in combating organized crime and terrorism. Discussions also covered collaboration in various scientific and technical police specialties.

The two officials examined challenges and risks associated with global and African terrorist threats, sharing perspectives on high-risk security threats in the Sahel, the Sahara, and the Horn of Africa, as well as other emerging hotspots where terrorist organizations are active and pose threats to global security.

Polish security authorities emphasized the importance of bilateral cooperation with Morocco’s national security institutions, underlining that Morocco is a trusted and key partner in the fight against terrorism and organized crime.

To strengthen this cooperation, Hammouchi and the Polish official agreed to organize an upcoming visit to Morocco by Poland’s head of internal security. The purpose of this visit will be to establish an institutional framework to structure and formalize the security partnership with Morocco.

The meeting provided an opportunity to highlight various South-South and regional cooperation initiatives launched under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, making the country a dynamic force for stability, progress, and peace in the Euro-African region.

This high-level meeting confirms both countries’ desire to reinforce their security collaboration. It opens promising opportunities to advance and develop this cooperation in ways that will positively impact the security of both Morocco and Poland.
