Rabat – The Mohammed VI Foundation for Scientific Research and Health has signed a partnership agreement with the Mauritanian Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization (WHO) to support and strengthen Mauritania’s health system.

Signed at the foundation’s headquarters in Rabat, the agreement aims to develop the skills of Mauritania’s health workforce. It was signed in the presence of Younes Bejjigo, CEO of the Mohammed VI Foundation for Scientific Research and Health, Alia Yahya Mankous, Secretary-General of the Mauritanian Ministry of Health, and Charlotte Fati Ndai, WHO representative in Mauritania.

The partnership will focus on training programs with accredited certifications and continuous professional development for Mauritanian health staff. Priority areas include vaccine science, expanded immunization programs, public health, epidemiology, and health project management.

Projects implemented under this partnership will be based on the actual needs of Mauritania’s health system and will adhere to international standards and guidelines.

The agreement also aims to strengthen institutional cooperation to ensure the quality, relevance, effectiveness, and sustainability of the training programs. Additionally, it seeks to develop a national pool of skilled professionals who can support long-term health reforms and strategic priorities in Mauritania.

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to building stronger health systems and developing local capacities, the foundation said in a statement.
