The Abbe Group, a private manufacturer of corrugated cardboard packaging, has announced the acquisition of Oji Fibre Solutions’ operations in Australia.

The transaction involves a share sale agreement with Abbe Group (Abbe Pty Ltd).

The integration of the two businesses is expected to strengthen Abbe Group’s position in the Australian corrugated packaging market.

Financial specifics of the deal were not disclosed.

The deal covers packaging solutions provider Oji’s corrugated operations in the states of Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.

It also includes Oji Cardboard Carton Solutions (OCCS) and regional distribution and erecting facilities in Far North Queensland and the Sunraysia region.

Completion of the transaction is expected on 1 November 2025.

Oji Fibre Solutions chairman Jon Ryder stated: “This is another step in our transformation towards a more stable and sustainable business model and enables us to fully focus on our core operations in New Zealand.

“While we will be sad to farewell our Australian colleagues, we are proud of what they have accomplished and excited for their future under new ownership. We wish the Abbe Group all the best for the future.”

Abbe called the deal a “major milestone”, saying it will enhance its infrastructure as well as service reach, stating: “We warmly welcome the Oji Fibre Solutions Australia team to Abbe Group and look forward to an exciting future as we make packaging easy for our customers together.”

“Abbe Group to acquire Oji Fibre Solutions’ Australian operations ” was originally created and published by Packaging Gateway, a GlobalData owned brand.
