Rabat – Morocco is taking part for the 11th year in a row in the International Green Week in Berlin, taking place from January 16 to 25. The event, which focuses on agriculture, food, and rural development, brings together countries from around the world in the German capital.

Morocco officially inaugurated its national pavilion today. The ceremony was led by the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests, Ahmed El Bouari.

The event was attended by Germany’s Federal Minister of Agriculture, Food and Regional Identity, Alois Georg Josef Rainer, as well as representatives of the Moroccan Embassy in Germany and professionals from the agricultural sector.

The Moroccan pavilion spotlights the richness of the country’s local agricultural heritage. It features around 20 stands representing 20 cooperatives from all 12 regions of the country.

Visitors can discover a wide range of Moroccan local products and enjoy culinary demonstrations and cultural activities, which offer a full immersion into Moroccan gastronomy and traditions, said the Ministry of Agriculture in a statement.

The focus is on quality, authenticity, and traditional know-how, with products that meet international standards for quality, food safety, and traceability, added the statement.

Minister El Bouari held bilateral meetings with several international counterparts on the sidelines of the Green Week and the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture.

These included talks with Poland’s Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Stefan Krajewski, and the UK’s Minister of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Angela Eagle. Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in agriculture, agri-food industries, food security, sustainable water management, and climate change adaptation.

The meeting with the Polish delegation saw the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
