Rabat – The draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup has placed Morocco in Group V alongside Brazil, Scotland, and Haiti. This marks Morocco’s 7th World Cup appearance, and their third consecutive qualification, underlining the team’s consistency as Africa’s leading side.

In 1998, Morocco also landed in a group that included Brazil and Scotland, alongside Norway.

Morocco enter the tournament with confidence after their historic semifinal run in Qatar 2022, where they became the first African and Arab nation to reach the last four.

Coach Walid Regragui leads a squad that blends experienced leaders such as Achraf Hakimi, Sofyan Amrabat, Yassine Bounou, and Noussair Mazraoui with rising talents from Europe’s top leagues.

Brazil, five‑time champions, are the group’s favorites with strong attacking options. Scotland return after many years away, looking to prove themselves. Haiti, back for the first time in nearly 50 years, are underdogs but bring energy and determination.

Morocco face a tough challenge. Brazil are the strongest team in the group, while Scotland’s physical style and Haiti’s unpredictability add pressure. To advance, Morocco must stay solid in defense and take their chances against Scotland and Haiti.

Beyond the results, Morocco’s presence shows Africa’s growing role in world football. The Atlas Lions carry the hopes of their nation and the continent.

    Other Groups Overview

The expanded 48‑team format has created 12 groups of four teams each.

Group A: Mexico, South Korea, South Africa, plus a UEFA playoff winner. Mexico will open the tournament in Mexico City.

Group B: Canada, Switzerland, Qatar, plus a UEFA playoff winner.

Group C: Brazil, Morocco, Scotland, Haiti.

Group D: United States, Paraguay, Australia, plus a UEFA playoff winner.
