Rabat – Lionel Messi delivered another standout performance in Major League Soccer, guiding Inter Miami to their first-ever Conference Final.

In the semifinal against Cincinnati, Messi scored once and set up three goals, once again proving that his influence goes far beyond finishing chances. He was the clear man of the match, showing his ability to create and lead under pressure.

Messi’s numbers continue to set him apart. While Cristiano Ronaldo is nearing 1,000 career goals, Messi has already reached 1,300 total goal contributions, combining 896 goals with 404 assists.

These figures show his dual role as both scorer and playmaker, breaking the traditional view that greatness is measured only by goals.

At TQL Stadium, Messi’s impact was decisive. He opened the scoring in the 19th minute with a header from Mateo Silvetti’s cross.

In the second half, he turned provider. First, a clever wall pass allowed Silvetti to double the lead. Minutes later, Messi led a counterattack that ended with Silvetti’s second goal. Finally, he slipped a precise pass to Tadeo Allende, who sealed the 4-0 win.

This win marked a historic step for Inter Miami. After six seasons, and in Messi’s third year with the club, they reached the Conference Final for the first time.

The team’s transformation since his arrival is clear, from an inconsistent project to a serious contender. Even without Luis Suárez on the pitch, Miami showed identity and strength, built around Messi’s leadership.

Now, the Herons await the winner between Philadelphia Union and NYCFC to learn their opponent.
