Rabat – US President Donald Trump said attacks on Iran could last a month or longer, adding that his country will continue its war with Tehran even if “more time is needed to complete the operation.”

Trump made his remarks today during a Medal of Honor ceremony at the White House, honoring service members who were killed during Iranian strikes.

“We projected four to five weeks, but we can go far longer than that,” Trump said, citing the US’s objective to degrade Iran’s missile capabilities.

The administration also aims to destroy Iran’s navy and fully contain its proxy forces, all in the ultimate stated goal of eliminating Tehran’s nuclear threat.

Trump’s remarks amid exchanges of attacks, following Saturday’s initial US-Israeli strike on Iran. According to Al Jazeera, Israel also intensified attacks on Lebanon, citing goals to target the Iranian proxy Hezbollah.

The news outlet said the death toll from Israeli strikes on Lebanon stood at least 52 people and wounded 154 others.

Today, Iran condemned US-Israeli attacks on schools and hospitals, describing them as “a strike at life itself.”

“Targeting patients and children blatantly violates humanitarian principles,” President Masoud Pezeshkian said on X, promising Iran will not “Remain silent or yield to these crimes.”

Turkiye’s President Erdogan said today he is determined to contribute to reaching a ceasefire between the US, Israel, and Iran.

“We are on the side of peace. We want an end to the bloodbath, for the tears to stop flowing, and for our region finally reach the lasting peace it has cried out for years,” Erdogan said before members of his party in Ankara.

Gulf countries continue to condemn attacks on their territories, as Iran continues to target US and Israeli assets.

Today, Kuwait announced that a navy soldier was killed during an operation by the Gulf country’s armed forces, but did not provide any details on the circumstances of the death.
