Rabat – The US has announced that Morocco will be part of a White House Task Force for the FIFA World Cup.

The US embassy in Rabat shared the news on social media, congratulating Morocco for being selected as part of the task force seeking to strengthen security collaboration for the upcoming World Cup.

“As we look forward to celebrating 250 years of friendship with Morocco, this is another opportunity to further strengthen our security cooperation and share our love of sports,” the embassy wrote on social media.

The task force seeks to lead and coordinate federal efforts in support of the upcoming World Club World Cup 2025  and the FFA World Cup 2026.

It will facilitate comprehensive planning, organization, and execution of the largest sporting events through integration, cooperation, information sharing, and strategic support.

It also aims to ensure the successful hosting of the international events.

The announcement comes as Morocco and the US strengthen bilateral ties at all levels, including security cooperation.

The US has commended Morocco’s efforts as a strong ally in security cooperation, including counterterrorism.

In January,  a high-level FBI delegation conducted an official visit to Morocco to review Morocco’s General Directorate of National Security’s protocol for the AFCON.

The FBI representatives visited the Moroccan Stadium Prince Moulay Abdellah in Rabat, observing security deployment patterns and surveillance systems, including drone monitoring and high definition cameras Moroccan authorities deployed throughout the continental tournament.Morocco has established an unprecedented security infrastructure for AFCON 2025, which the international community declared as the most secure tournament in the competition’s history.
