Rabat – StartGate Rabat, a startup campus within the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), held an event today in partnership with Glovo to deepen technological cooperation between World Cup 2030 co-hosts, including Morocco, Spain, and Portugal.

Called “Iberia-Morocco StartUp Connect”, the event took place at StartGate-UM6P Campus in Technopolis under the Ministry of Digital Transition.

The event serves as a platform to promote Morocco as a destination for international tech investors,  convening venture capital funds, incubators, and high-potential entrepreneurs to identify concrete areas of collaboration, fostering long-term partnerships among stakeholders from the three countries.

Called “Iberia-Morocco StartUp Connect”, the event took place at StartGate-UM6P Campus in Technopolis under the Ministry of Digital Transition.

Oscar Pierre, the founder and CEO of Glovo, told Morocco World News (MWN) during the event that the initiative serves as an opportunity to bring the Iberian tech ecosystem closer to Morocco and share Glovo’s successful experience in the country.

“Morocco is one of our best-performing countries across our portfolio of 23 markets. Casablanca is actually our number one city in terms of orders,” he said.

He added that the event presents Morocco as a major opportunity for Spanish and Portuguese investors.

Called “Iberia-Morocco StartUp Connect”, the event took place at StartGate-UM6P Campus in Technopolis under the Ministry of Digital Transition.

“There’s not only great proximity, but also many synergies for Iberian businesspeople to invest here,” Pierre emphasized.

Minister of Digital Transition Amal El Fallah Serghouchni inaugurated the event today, delivering the vision behind the AIMade in Morocco initiative.

The initiative focuses on building a competitive startup ecosystem rooted in AI, introducing entrepreneurs to Morocco’s support mechanisms in the sector.

Morocco has been pledging commitment to position itself as a prime destination in the Mediterranean for major industrial and service investments.

The country seeks to strengthen efforts to build a sectoral ecosystem with stable and clear public policies.

Called “Iberia-Morocco StartUp Connect”, the event took place at StartGate-UM6P Campus in Technopolis under the Ministry of Digital Transition.

The UM6P StartGate event is a tangible implementation of a memorandum of understanding between the ministry and Glovo to support and energize the tech ecosystem.

The event also aims to showcase successful case studies and cooperation models between the three World Cup co-hosts, reflecting the region’s potential and the factors that could consolidate cooperation.
