Sundowns Reach CAF Champions League Final as Moroccan Derby Decides Their Opponent

Mamelodi Sundowns are through to the final of the CAF Champions League after a controlled 1–0 win over Espérance Sportive de Tunis, sealing a 2–0 aggregate victory.

The decisive moment came once again from Brayan León, whose first-half goal in Pretoria after a missed penalty, confirmed Sundowns’ dominance over the two legs. The South African team had already won the first leg in Tunis, and this second-leg performance was more about control than risk.

Disciplined, efficient, and calm under pressure, Sundowns never really lost grip of the tie. Even when Espérance pushed, coming close with a shot off the crossbar, the result always felt under control.

AS FAR vs Berkane to decide the finalist

From a Moroccan perspective, all eyes now shift to the second semi-final.

AS FAR face RS Berkane tonight in a decisive game that will determine who meets Sundowns in the final.

AS FAR come into the second leg with a 2–0 advantage, putting them in a strong position, but not exactly safe. Berkane, playing at home, have built their campaign on resilience and attacking bursts, and remain capable of turning the tie around.

A place in the final is already guaranteed for Sundowns’ opponent but Morocco has the chance to send a club with momentum, identity, and belief.

AS FAR will look to control, defend, and manage the lead RS Berkane will have to attack, take risks, and chase the comeback.

One team is waiting. Morocco now decides who answers.
