Rabat – Real Madrid suffered a surprising defeat against Mallorca, leaving them four points behind Barcelona in the La Liga standings

The match that brought them together today, Saturday, took place at the Iberostar Stadium for the 30th round of the Spanish League.
RCD Mallorca went into halftime with a 1-0 advantage, courtesy of Manuel Morlanes, who scored in the 43rd minute.

In the second half, Real Madrid managed to level the score only in the closing stages, with defender Éder Militão, returning from injury, finding the net in the 88th minute and giving his side hope of securing a positive outcome.

However, Real Mallorca responded almost immediately, as Vedat Muriqi scored the decisive winner in stoppage time (90+1′), securing three crucial points for his team.

Amid the setback, Brahim Díaz shines with resilience. After a tough period with Morocco at AFCON 2025, he’s regained confidence and rhythm, injecting creativity and energy into Madrid’s play.

As a result, Real Madrid remains on 69 points in second place, trailing Barcelona, who lead with 73 points ahead of their clash with Atletico Madrid this evening (20:00 GMT+1). Real Mallorca climbed to 31 points, moving up to seventeenth place in the standings.
