Chelsea could look to add one more attacking player to their squad, with Lyon winger Malick Fofana one of the options according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Blues have made three attacking signings already with Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens and Joao Pedro all joining the club.

Chelsea could still add another attacker, whilst they are also in the market for a centre back to strengthen Enzo Maresca’s squad ahead of the new season.

Malick Fofana remains an option for Chelsea

It’s been reported Chelsea want as many as nine attacking options in their squad next season, but before they consider signing another, one of the current crop will likely have to leave.

Chelsea have been linked with West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus, and it’s believed the Blues are keeping an eye on the situation surrounding the Ghana international.

Another name of interest is Fofana, although having signed Gittens it remains to be seen if the Blues go in for another left winger.

Chelsea made a verbal enquiry to Lyon for Fofana, whilst Nottingham Forest have agreed a deal with the Ligue 1 outfit for the 20-year-old.

Romano has now provided an update on the situation and revealed Fofana is still an option for Chelsea this summer.

“Chelsea could still add one more player for the attacking package for the upcoming season, he told his YouTube channel.

“Malick Fofana from Lyon is one of the options at Chelsea.”

Fofana scored 11 goals and registered six assists in 41 appearances in all competitions last season, and is thought to want to join a Champions League club.

    Chelsea could sell Madueke

As things stand Noni Madueke is the most likely to leave to make room for another attacker, and the England international is attracting interest from Arsenal.

It’s been reported Chelsea could consider offers in excess of £45m for the winger, although despite reports, Arsenal aren’t thought to have submitted any proposals to Chelsea for the 23-year-old.

Madueke joined Chelsea from PSV Eindhoven in January 2023 in a deal worth £29m and scored seven goals and registered four assists in the Premier League last season.
