Rabat-Nigeria booked their place in the Africa Cup of Nations round of 16 with a thrilling 3–2 win over Tunisia in their second Group C match. The Super Eagles raced into a three-goal lead before surviving a late Tunisian fightback to secure all three points.

The opening goal came just before halftime when Victor Osimhen rose highest to head home from a well-placed cross by Ademola Lookman in the 44th minute, giving Nigeria a narrow lead at the break.

Nigeria struck again early in the second half. Wilfred Ndidi made it 2–0 in the 50th minute with another precise header, capitalizing on Nigeria’s continued threat from set pieces and crosses. Lookman added a third in the 67th minute, giving Nigeria a seemingly comfortable cushion.

Tunisia, however, refused to go quietly. Montassar Talbi pulled one back in the 75th minute with a header from a free kick, and Ali Abdi converted a penalty in the 87th minute to make it 3–2 and set up a tense finish. Despite the late surge, Nigeria held on to claim victory.

The win guarantees Nigeria’s progression to the knockout stage as Group C winners. Tunisia remain second with three points following their opening 3–1 victory over Uganda. Earlier, Uganda and Tanzania drew 1–1, leaving both sides with a single point ahead of the final round of group fixtures.
