To say the Tennessee Titans’ season has been a disappointment would be an understatement. The Titans head into their Week 14 matchup with the Cleveland Browns with the worst record in the NFL and are battling for draft position, not just for wins.
This season has been a disaster, leading to Brian Callahan’s early firing. And even though the team has shown some growth and improvement under interim head coach Mike McCoy, he is clearly not a long-term solution.

The Titans need to find a head coach who will bring stability to the struggling organization, as well as someone equipped to develop Cam Ward into the top-tier quarterback the front office believed in when they selected him first overall in the 2025 NFL draft. While fans and pundits have weighed in on potential candidates, no clear-cut name has emerged at this point.
This week, Albert Breer weighed in with a nugget in his Monday Morning Quarterback series and mentioned the Titans’ methodical search and some of the names he is hearing.
While Mike McCarthy, Matt Nagy, and even Jesse Minter have been batted around social media, the name Chris Shula is a new one to add to the list of potential candidates connected in some way to the organization.

Serving as the Los Angeles Rams’ defensive coordinator, Shula has become a hot name for potential openings across the league. The 39-year-old defensive coordinator has risen through the ranks in the Rams organization since being hired by Sean McVay as an assistant linebackers coach, and is poised to be the next head coach from the McVay tree.
Shula has deep NFL bloodlines in coaching circles, is the grandson of Hall of Fame coach and NFL legend Don Shula, and the son of longtime NFL assistant David Shula, and the young coach has found his name mentioned in multiple openings.
