Morocco’s records at the U-17 World Cup and AFCON

Morocco’s U-17 team has gained strong attention globally in recent years thanks to their performances at both continental and global levels.

At the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar, Morocco reached the quarterfinals. The team beat the United States and then defeated Mali in the round of 16 before falling narrowly to Brazil.

It was Morocco’s best-ever result at a U-17 World Cup and showed the progress of the country’s youth system.

Before that, at the 2023 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations in Algeria, Morocco reached the final but finished as runners-up after losing to Senegal. The team’s run was praised for its organization and talent, confirming Morocco’s place among Africa’s leading youth programs.

Morocco came back stronger two years later. Hosting the 2025 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations, they went all the way and won the title for the first time in their history.

In the final, they defeated Mali on penalties after a goalless draw. The victory marked a breakthrough moment for Moroccan youth football and secured their spot at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar, where they reached the quarterfinals.
