Rabat – Morocco’s weather is expected to see limited changes in the coming days before becoming more stable, according to the General Directorate of Meteorology.

Light, scattered rain is expected on Saturday in the High and Middle Atlas Mountains and nearby western plains, as well as in northern parts of the Oriental region. Skies will be partly cloudy in the northern Atlantic plains, along the Mediterranean coast, and in the Saiss region, especially in the morning, with a slight chance of light showers.

Snow may fall on mountain peaks above 1,600 meters. Temperatures will stay cold at night, with frost possible in the Atlas Mountains, the Rif, and the eastern highlands. Winds could be strong at times in the east, along the Mediterranean coast, and in parts of the south, with some local sandstorms possible in the southeast.

High temperatures on Saturday will range between -4°C and 2°C in the Atlas Mountains, 3°C to 9°C in the Rif and eastern highlands, 18°C to 26°C in the southern provinces and the Souss area, and 10°C to 17°C across the rest of the country.

Weather conditions are expected to stabilize on Sunday, with mostly clear skies across much of the country. Mornings will remain cold, with frost possible in mountainous and inland areas. Some local fog or low clouds may form near the northern coasts during the morning and night. Daytime temperatures will rise noticeably nationwide.

From Monday through Wednesday, stable weather will continue, with possible morning and nighttime fog over the northern Atlantic plains. Winds will remain moderate to occasionally strong in the Mediterranean coast, the Oriental region, and the southern provinces. Daytime temperatures are expected to gradually increase across the country.

Starting Thursday, passing clouds may affect the northwest before sunny and stable conditions return.

Morocco has experienced unusually unstable and rainy weather in recent weeks. Heavy rainfall in several regions led to flooding, road closures, and evacuations.

Authorities intervened to assist affected families, and the government announced financial support for those who suffered damage to their homes and property. The improving weather conditions are expected to bring relief after a period marked by strong storms and disruption.
