Rabat – The 19th edition of the Dubai International Airshow opened on Monday in Dubai, bringing together leaders, decision-makers, innovators, and professionals from the aviation industry representing 150 countries, including Morocco.

Morocco is taking part with a delegation led by the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Abdelssamad Qayouh, along with several officials from the aviation sector. The country is also represented through a pavilion organized by the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE), which features several Moroccan exhibitors from the aerospace industry.

This pavilion has attracted many experts and representatives of international companies who are interested in learning more about Morocco’s growing aviation sector, considered one of the promising pillars of the national economy.

This year’s edition of the Dubai Airshow is the largest yet, hosting more than 1,500 companies from over 47 countries, showcasing 200 aircraft, and welcoming over 148,000 visitors.

    Expanding Gulf cooperation

On the sidelines of the event, Minister Qayouh held talks with Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director General of the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority.

The two officials hailed the excellent cooperation between Morocco and the UAE and discussed ways to further strengthen their partnership in civil aviation.

They focused particularly on technical cooperation between the aviation directorates of both countries, including the exchange of expertise and technical teams.

Minister Qayouh also thanked the UAE for its strong support of Morocco’s candidacy for a permanent seat on the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Council in Canada.

He invited the UAE to visit Morocco to continue exchanging experiences and deepen cooperation.

The Moroccan minister also met with Saleh Al-Jasser, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Transport and Logistics Services. The meeting celebrated the strong bilateral ties between Morocco and Saudi Arabia and discussed improving air transport services between the two countries.

Qayouh noted that in recent years, air travel between Morocco and Saudi Arabia has increased significantly, particularly for Hajj and Umrah trips, as well as regular flights used by both Moroccan and Saudi citizens.

He reaffirmed Morocco’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Saudi Arabia in all fields related to civil aviation.

The meeting was also an opportunity to highlight Morocco’s upcoming hosting of the International Aviation Conference in April 2026 in Marrakech.

Qayouh said the Dubai Airshow provides a good chance to invite key international aviation stakeholders to attend this event.
