Rabat – Morocco has officially announced the postponement of local unified exams and continuous assessment tests for primary and secondary school students, shifting the dates to January 20-21, 2026.

The decision comes as the country prepares for the historic AFCON 2025 final, in which the Atlas Lions will take on Senegal’s Teranga Lions on January 18.

In a statement today, the ministry said the tournament has received wide attention from students, their families, and all members of the Moroccan public.

“In this regard, it has decided to reschedule the local unified exams and continuous assessment tests for primary and lower secondary education to January 20 and 1,2026,” the statement added.

It also reaffirmed its commitment to continuing to take all necessary measures to ensure the best interests of students, as well as balancing school requirements with various national contexts.

The final game of the Atlas Lions will take place on Sunday at 8 p.m. Moroccan time at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

The final game will be against Senegal. Morocco clinched a spot in the tournament after an outstanding performance on Wednesday. The well-deserved victory sparked celebrations across Morocco after midnight.

Before the government announcement,  Moroccan deputy Mohamed Ouzzine requested that the ministry postpone Monday’s scheduled exams to allow students to watch the final.

Ouzzine said the final will capture the attention of all Moroccans, especially since the majority of the young generation have never experienced a national sporting moment of such intensity.
