Marrakech – The Red City is set to become the center of global mining innovation as the Morocco International Mining Congress & Exhibition (IMC 2025) takes place from 24–26 November at the Pickalbatros Golf Hotel.

The event promises to position Morocco as a hub for sustainable mining, critical minerals, and green industrialization.

“IMC 2025 is shaping up to be an essential platform for dialogue and expertise-sharing on the global mining landscape,” said Mr. Mohammed Cherrat, President of FDIM, in a press release shared with MWN.

“This edition, under the theme ‘Strategic and Critical Metals: Morocco, an open industrial and technological hub for regional and global added value,’ will highlight Morocco’s role in the energy transition and sustainable industrial development.”

IMC 2025 will go beyond traditional discussions of mineral extraction, focusing on how mining can drive industrial growth, climate action, and inclusive development.

Policymakers, investors, and industry leaders are expected to explore how Morocco’s strategic resources, especially critical metals, can support energy transition and reinforce national and regional sovereignty.

The congress program will feature high-level plenaries, ministerial panels, and breakaway sessions covering topics such as geometallurgy, mine water management, logistics corridors, talent development, and women’s leadership in mining.

Participants will gain insights into sustainable supply chains and responsible mining practices that are shaping Africa’s industrial future.

    A forward-looking program

The three-day program is designed to combine high-level dialogue with practical insights:

    • Ministerial panel: Led by the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, featuring discussions on policy, sustainability, and strategic minerals.
    • Plenary sessions: Exploring sustainable value chains, geopolitical impacts, responsible mining, and the role of critical minerals in the green transition.
    • Breakaway sessions: Eight thematic sessions covering geometallurgy, mine water management, logistics corridors, talent development, women in mining, and other cutting-edge topics.
    • Project showcases: Highlighting mining projects across Morocco and Africa that exemplify innovation, sustainability, and industrial transformation.
    • B2B networking: Dedicated spaces for partnerships, deal-making, and knowledge exchange.

    Mining and more

IMC 2025 will also provide dedicated B2B zones and project showcases, creating opportunities for partnerships and tangible solutions.

Delegates will have the chance to connect with innovators and view mining projects poised to redefine the sector in Morocco and across the continent.

    Oscars of mining

For the first time, IMC 2025 will host the Mining Excellence Awards, recognizing leaders and innovators who are driving sustainability, innovation, and impact.

    Award categories will include:

    • Best Poster Award
    • Start-up Project of the Year
    • Best ESG Project
    • Woman in Mining Leadership Award
    • Mining Company of the Year
    • Pioneering Mining Project of the Year
    • Lifetime Achievement in Mining

    The world is watching

With bold reforms, commitment to clean energy, and leadership in critical minerals, Morocco is expected to demonstrate how mining can serve people, planet, and prosperity.

IMC 2025 will mark a significant step in showcasing Morocco’s ability to turn mineral resources into strategic advantage for Africa and the world.
