Rabat – Morocco’s handicraft exports continued to grow in 2025 to achieve an 11% increase and reach a total value of over MAD 1.23 billion.

The State Secretariat in charge of Handicrafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy said this strong performance reflects the sector’s ability to maintain positive momentum, despite challenges in the global economy.

Exports recorded their highest growth during January, July, and November, with increases of 31%, 34%, and 27%, respectively, compared to the same months in 2024.

Traditional clothing showed the fastest growth among exported products, rising by 75% and increasing its share of total exports from 11% in 2024 to 17% in 2025.

Pottery and stone products remained the top export items, maintaining a 36% share, while Moroccan rugs held the second place with an 18% contribution. Jewelry also saw strong growth, increasing by 52%.

Among international markets, Turkiye showed remarkable growth, with exports more than doubling compared to 2024, making it the third-largest market with a 6% share.

The United States strengthened its position as Morocco’s largest export market, with a 25% increase in exports and a 49% share. France remained the second-largest market but saw its share fall from 14% to 11%.

Marrakech remained the top export hub, followed by Casablanca. Fez stood out with excellent growth, increasing its exports by 81% and raising its share from 13% to 21%. Tangier also performed well, with a 24% increase in exports and an 8% share.

The report says this growth demonstrates the resilience and international appeal of Morocco’s handicraft sector and shows that traditional products remain in high demand around the world.
