After being out of action for over a month due to sciatica, LeBron James is now almost ready to return. He was a full participant in the Los Angeles Lakers’ practice session on Monday, and he’s listed as questionable for Tuesday’s game versus the Utah Jazz.

He was first diagnosed with sciatica early in the team’s preseason schedule, and he reportedly first developed the ailment during a mid-summer workout. Coming into training camp, James’ camp reportedly urged the Lakers to be “overly cautious” with the 40-year-old.

He admitted on Monday that he also had a bout with sciatica two offseasons ago.

“I had it two years ago,” James said. “If you had it, then you know what the hell it’s about. If you ain’t never had it, you people making jokes about it, I pray you never get it. It’s not fun.”

James, who was once thought to be something close to indestructible, has been somewhat injury-prone since coming to the Lakers in 2018. He played in just 55 games during his first season in L.A. due to a groin strain, and he was limited to 56 and 55 games during the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons, respectively.

However, he did appear in at least 70 games during the previous two campaigns. Los Angeles has played 14 games without him so far this season, and it has won 10 of those contests.
