King Mohammed VI Urges Full Implementation of Ceasefire, Two-State Solution

Rabat – King Mohammed VI has renewed Morocco’s firm and longstanding support for the Palestinian cause in a message to Coly Seck, President of the UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People.

The message marks the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People on November 25. In the message, the monarch also called for the full implementation of the ceasefire.

“This will allow the killing to stop, alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people, ensure the smooth and sufficient delivery of humanitarian aid, and urgently launch reconstruction efforts, ultimately opening prospects for a comprehensive and just political settlement,” the King said in his message.

He also commended Trump’s efforts and contribution to achieving the recently adopted, agreed-upon ceasefire in Gaza in October.

“We highly value the tireless efforts and personal involvement of His Excellency President Donald Trump, whose decisive role was instrumental in achieving this noble objective. We also acknowledge the efforts of all mediators involved,” the King said.

Despite the ceasefire, Israel continues its relentless campaign across Gaza and other regions, including the occupied West Bank.

“While global attention is focused on recent positive developments in Gaza following the ceasefire, the West Bank is experiencing an equally tragic and dangerous reality due to settlement expansion and intensified daily attacks against Palestinians and their property aimed at displacing peaceful residents,” the King said.

Recent data from medical sources in Gaza indicated today that the death toll in Gaza continues to climb despite the ceasefire.

Since the ceasefire agreement on October 11,  the death toll in Gaza rose to 345, with over 889 injuries and the recovery of 588 bodies.

The total death toll since October 2023 reached 69,775. The majority of them are children and women, while the number of injured victims reached 170,965.

The King also expressed serious concern over Israel’s escalating unilateral provocations beyond Gaza, including i Al-Quds and repeated violations of the sacred Al-Aqsa Mosque.

“We express our deep concern over the escalation of unilateral provocations by the Israeli side in Al-Quds and repeated violations of the sacred Al-Aqsa Mosque. These grave actions, which we have repeatedly warned against, fuel extremist rhetoric and hatred at the expense of wisdom and moderation. If they continue, they risk triggering a religious confrontation that could, God forbid, ignite the entire region,” the King warned.

King Mohammed VI said that international initiatives and efforts should focus on ensuring the political and administrative unity of Gaza and the West Bank under the Palestinian National Authority as integral parts of the desired Palestinian State and with East Jerusalem as its capital.

International efforts should also support the Palestinian Authority, as well as encourage the Palestinian reconciliation to achieve national unity under the Palestine Liberation Organization.

The monarch also reiterated Morocco’s support for the two-state solution, endorsing a serious negotiation process aimed at establishing a sovereign and viable Palestinian State within the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital– living side by side in peace with Israel.
