Mohammedia – King Mohammed VI has sent a message of condolences and sympathy to the family of the late legendary singer,Abdelhadi Belkhayat.
The iconic singer was one of the country’s most influential musical figures.
In the message, the King said he was deeply affected by Belkhayat’s death, describing his passing as a profound loss not only for the artist’s family, but for Morocco’s wider cultural and artistic community, as well as for audiences across the Arab world.
The monarch noted that Belkhayat’s music continues to resonate with listeners of different generations, reflecting the enduring impact of his work.
The King highlighted the singer’s artistic legacy, saying that Belkhayat created “timeless musical masterpieces” that will remain firmly rooted in the collective memory of admirers of authentic Moroccan song.
He described the late artist as a rare national cultural figure whose contributions helped shape Morocco’s modern musical identity.
In his message, he extended his “warmest condolences and sincerest expressions of sympathy” to the family of the late singer, as well as to his relatives, fellow artists, friends, and admirers.
He referred to Belkhayat as one of Morocco’s devoted and creative sons, whose long career enriched both the Moroccan and Arab musical repertoires for more than five decades through distinctive and pioneering works.
The King also prayed for patience and comfort for the bereaved family, asking God to grant them strength in the face of their loss.
He concluded his message invoking divine mercy for Belkhayat, expressing hope that the late artist would be rewarded for his service to his country and welcomed into eternal peace.
