Rabat – Moroccan defender Ismaël Baouf is beginning to attract attention in the Netherlands after being named in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie Team of the Week for Round 32.

The 19-year-old centre-back, who plays for SC Cambuur, has impressed with a series of composed performances, quickly establishing himself as a reliable presence in defense.

Baouf joined Cambuur in 2025 from Anderlecht’s reserve side and has adapted well to his first full season in senior football. He has steadily earned playing time, showing maturity and consistency in central defense that has not gone unnoticed.

His inclusion in the league’s Team of the Week reflects his growing influence, with his performances becoming increasingly important to Cambuur’s defensive structure.

Baouf is known for his calmness under pressure, he has played 12 matches this season, scoring 2 goals, which is  a notable stat for a defender at his age.
