Morocco’s Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance (DGSN-DGST), Abdellatif Hammouchi, held separate meetings on Wednesday in Rabat with the ambassadors of the United Kingdom, Gabon, and Malaysia to discuss bilateral security cooperation.

During talks with UK Ambassador Alex Pinfield, the discussions focused on existing areas of security cooperation between the two countries, including border policing, counterterrorism, and the fight against transnational crime. Both sides also explored ways to expand cooperation in line with broader bilateral relations.

Hammouchi also met with Gabonese Ambassador Branly Martial Oupolo to review avenues for strengthening security cooperation and to exchange views on regional security developments, particularly in the Sahel-Sahara zone.

The discussions addressed emerging threats linked to regional instability and cross-border security challenges. The two sides examined prospects for deeper South-South police cooperation, with an emphasis on training, combating irregular migration networks, and countering terrorist groups operating in the Sahel and Sahara.
