Rabat – Moroccan football star Achraf Hakimi and artist Hassan Hajjaj have partnered to open JUJ, a creative concept space in Casablanca, unveiled ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The project blends football, art, and Moroccan pop culture in a temporary venue designed to capture the country’s energy during the tournament.

JUJ is set up as a hybrid space – part café and part pop‑up store. Visitors can enjoy coffee while browsing limited‑edition items and design pieces inspired by football and urban Moroccan culture.

The collaboration has drawn attention because it brings together two figures from different fields, Hakimi from sport and Hajjaj from contemporary art, who share a vision of creativity.

The space is not intended as a traditional commercial venture. Instead, it serves as a short‑term cultural platform. Its design features bold colors, graphic patterns, and cultural references that connect with both local audiences and international visitors arriving for AFCON.

    Who Is Hassan Hajjaj

Hassan Hajjaj, born in Larache in 1961, is one of Morocco’s most recognized contemporary artists. His work combines traditional Moroccan aesthetics with global street culture, fashion, and advertising.

Often described as a pioneer of Moroccan pop art, he has exhibited internationally, including at the British Museum in London and the Brooklyn Museum in New York.
