Rabat – The government detected a total of 4,038 market violations during Ramadan, as the Ministry of Interior conducted 43,412 inspections between 1 Shaaban and 6 Ramadan, according to spokesperson Mustapha Baitas.

Speaking at a press briefing following the Government Council meeting, Baitas stated that 1,101 of the violations led to formal warnings, while 2,937 cases were referred to the competent courts through official reports.

During the same period, the committees seized and destroyed approximately 273 tons of products deemed unfit for consumption or non-compliant with existing regulatory standards.

Baitas further stressed that markets remain adequately supplied with essential goods widely consumed during Ramadan. He recalled that weekly coordination meetings involving the relevant government departments are held to ensure continuous monitoring of market conditions throughout the holy month, particularly regarding supply levels, pricing, and inspection operations.

One week into Ramadan, data provided by the various departments confirm that national markets are operating under normal conditions, with sufficient quantities of essential food products available.
