Crystal Palace have reportedly made contact to sign Vasco da Gama winger Rayan, according to ESPN Brasil.

Palace claimed their first-ever major trophy last season, defeating Manchester City to win the FA Cup.

Unfortunately, the club did not seize the opportunity to bolster their squad, especially in the attacking areas where they need more exciting options.

Palace’s move for Rayan will be welcomed by manager Oliver Glasner, who has been crying out for reinforcements.

Rayan is a highly rated Brazilian prospect who has turned heads since his early days. After bagging 20 goals in 55 appearances last term, he is ready for a big move.

The fleet-footed right-sided winger can burst past his man with ease and is ruthless in the final third.

The left-footed attacker can slot into the right inside-forward position in Glasner’s 3-4-2-1 formation, giving him more offensive weapons to unleash.

However, the Eagles are not alone in the race, with Porto in the picture. Bayern Munich are also interested.

His new deal could also prove a stumbling block for Palace. He recently signed a new contract that runs until 2028 and has a €80 million release clause.

The Eagles will need to be wary after their last venture into the Brazilian market. Palace signed Matheus Franca, but he failed to make an impact at the club.
