Morocco’s women’s national team will take on Congo in the second round of the African qualifiers for the Los Angeles 2028 Summer Olympics, following the official draw held today at the headquarters of the Confederation of African Football in Cairo.

The Atlas Lionesses will play their two-legged tie between October 5 and October 13, aiming to secure a strong start in their qualification campaign. Morocco enters the competition at this stage after CAF granted the team a bye from the first round thanks to its continental ranking.

The upcoming fixture presents a crucial opportunity for the Moroccan side to assert its ambitions on the African stage. After missing out on qualification for the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics, the team now focuses on making history by reaching the Olympic Games for the first time.

With growing achievement in women’s football across the country, Morocco hopes to capitalize on its progress and deliver a convincing performance against Congo to keep its Olympic dream alive.
