Álvaro Arbeloa has confirmed that Brahim Díaz will start for Real Madrid in their La Liga clash against Mallorca today, pointing to the growing importance of the Moroccan international within the squad.

Speaking ahead of the match, Arbeloa shared that his decision was based on both trust and recent performances, as Díaz continues to play a bigger role in the team.

The coach spoke about the player’s mentality, especially after a difficult emotional period following the AFCON final with Morocco, stressing his ability to respond positively. “Brahim came through a situation that was not easy at all, but he showed the quality he has.”

Arbeloa also pointed to Díaz’s current form, describing his performances as consistently high-level and valuable to the team in any role. “He’s performing at a very high level, whether he starts or comes off the bench.”

Arbeloa: “Brahim Díaz ha salido de una situación que no ha sido fácil. Ha sabido luchar y demostrar el tipo de jugador que es”.

    A growing influence

Beyond his mentality, Díaz’s technical qualities were also emphasized, particularly his ability to operate in tight spaces and create differences between the lines. “He’s very good in tight spaces and can make the difference between the lines.”

Arbeloa even suggested that the player’s role could evolve further, with the possibility of using him in a more central position to increase his influence on the game.

His selection against Mallorca proves a clear shift in status. No longer just a rotational option, Brahim Díaz is increasingly becoming an important piece in Real Madrid’s setup as the season progresses.
