Amazon Q4 Sales Hit $213.4 Billion as AWS Growth Accelerates

Mohammedia – Amazon.com, Inc. said revenue and profit rose in the final quarter of 2025, helped by strong growth in its cloud business, even as spending on artificial intelligence increased sharply.

The company reported fourth-quarter sales of $213.4 billion, up 14% from a year earlier. Sales grew 12% when currency effects are excluded. Net income rose to $21.2 billion, compared with $20.0 billion in the same period of 2024.

Amazon Web Services led the gains. AWS revenue climbed 24% to $35.6 billion, its fastest growth in several quarters. The cloud unit generated $12.5 billion in operating income, up from $10.6 billion a year earlier. AWS remains Amazon’s biggest source of profit.

In North America, sales rose 10% to $127.1 billion. The company said faster delivery and higher order volumes continued to support growth. International sales increased 17% to $50.7 billion, though profit in that segment fell to $1.0 billion from $1.3 billion a year earlier as costs rose.

Overall operating income reached $25.0 billion, up from $21.2 billion a year earlier. Results included charges linked to tax settlements, severance payments, and write-downs tied mainly to physical stores. Without those costs, operating income would have been higher.

For the full year, Amazon posted revenue of $716.9 billion, a 12% increase from 2024. Net income rose to $77.7 billion, up from $59.2 billion the year before. AWS revenue for the year totaled $128.7 billion, while operating income at the cloud unit reached $45.6 billion.

Cash flow from operations rose 20% to $139.5 billion over the year. Free cash flow fell to $11.2 billion, down sharply from $38.2 billion in 2024. The decline was driven by a large increase in spending on data centers, equipment, and chips used for artificial intelligence.

Chief Executive Andy Jassy said demand remains strong across cloud services, advertising, and retail. He said Amazon expects to spend about $200 billion on capital investments in 2026, mainly tied to AI, cloud infrastructure, and logistics.

Looking ahead, Amazon said it expects first-quarter 2026 sales of between $173.5 billion and $178.5 billion. Operating income is forecast to range from $16.5 billion to $21.5 billion, reflecting continued investment and higher costs early in the year.
