Rabat — Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi has cemented his status in Paris Saint-Germain history, surpassing club icons Ángel Di María and Edinson Cavani to become the fifth most-capped player in the club’s European history.

Following his performance in the Champions League quarter-final second leg against Liverpool yesterday, Hakimi reached 55 appearances in the competition. While his offensive impact this season has been particularly notable. With 5 assists in the current campaign, he sits second on the list of top assist providers, trailing only his teammate Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who leads the competition with six.

The Moroccan right-back played a pivotal role on the right flank for the Parisian side, contributing both defensively and offensively with his trademark pace and energy.

Hakimi’s climb to the fifth position is a particularly meaningful symbol of his standing in the PSG pecking order, by playing his 55th Champions league match, Hakimi moved past the iconic players who led PSG for the last ten years.

Hakimi has maintained a starting rate of over 90% since joining the Parisian club in 2021, and his level of consistency allowed him to reach the 200-match milestone for the club on April 3.

The Moroccan right-back is recognized as the most experienced and reliable veteran of the current squad’s defensive core, continuing to redefine his role as the perfect embodiment of a modern full-back on the world’s biggest stage.
