Pitt LB Jeremiah Marcelin to Miss 2025 Season with Injury

PITTSBURGH — Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi provided injury updates Thursday morning prior to the Panthers’ final training camp practice.

Narduzzi announced that linebacker Jeremiah Marcelin has been lost for the entirety of the 2025 season with an upper body injury.

Along with Marcelin, outside linebacker Jayden Bonsu will miss the season with a leg injury.

Marcelin is entering his sophomore season for the Panthers. His rise in spring camp opened up a competition at middle linebacker between him and Braylan Lovelace. While Lovelace is the projected starter at Mike, Marcelin gave Pitt a viable fourth option in its linebacker rotation in the middle and at the Money spot.

As a true freshman, Marcelin played in 10 games serving on special teams and as a reserve middle linebacker behind Brandon George and Keye Thompson. He recorded one tackle that came against Youngstown State.

Coming out of Miami Norland High School in Florida, Marcelin was a three-star prospect and ranked as the No. 26 linebacker in the class by Rivals. As a senior he totaled 45 tackles, 13 tackles for loss and six sacks.

He selected the Panthers over other offers from Louisville, Maryland, Auburn, Cincinnati, Coastal Carolina, Florida State, Kentucky, Miami, Ole Miss, Stanford, Syracuse, Tennessee, Texas A&M, UCF and West Virginia.
