Marrakech — SAP Officially announced a partnership with Smart Africa in an alliance of African countries, international organizations, and global private sector players tasked with driving Africa’s digital agenda.

The agreement was formalized during a signing ceremony today, as part of GITEX Africa 2026 working sessions to work with partners across the continent for supporting long-term digital growth and with plans to bring together business applications, data, and artificial intelligence to help organizations improve how they run their operations.

This approach enables organizations to better anticipate change, improve resilience, and make faster, more informed decisions, especially in areas such as supply chains, where reliable data is essential

    Enhancing performance with data-driven strategy

Within the framework of this collaboration, SAP aims to integrate business applications, data, and artificial intelligence to support organizations in optimizing their operations and overall performance.

By leveraging this approach, organizations can better anticipate disruptions, strengthen their resilience, and make quicker, well-informed decisions—particularly in critical areas like supply chain management, where access to accurate and reliable data is key.

“Our participation in this alliance reflects our commitment to contributing to the transformations underway across the continent. It is based on a cooperative approach involving all stakeholders, both public and private,” said Hicham Iraqi Houssaini, Managing Director, SAP Francophone Africa.

Driving digital transformation through strategic sectors

SAP’s commitment is centered on key sectors that play a vital role in Africa’s growth, notably healthcare, infrastructure, and education.

Within these domains, SAP technologies contribute to enhancing traceability, increasing operational transparency, and modernizing management systems, while also enabling more effective, data-driven decision-making.

This program aims to cultivate a new generation of professionals equipped to support organizations in their digital transformation journeys. It blends business process expertise, SAP certification tracks, and advanced skills development in fields such as data analytics and artificial intelligence.

However, SAP is actively investing in talent development to strengthen capabilities across its ecosystem. The SAP Young Professionals Program (YPP) in Francophone Africa is a flagship initiative that brings together emerging talent through a training pathway closely aligned with market demands.

As of, the company not only nurtures a robust pipeline of qualified talent but also facilitates their successful integration into an increasingly dynamic and evolving job market.

SAP stands at the nexus of business and technology. For over 50 years, organizations have trusted SAP to bring out their best by uniting business-critical operations spanning finance, procurement, HR, supply chain, and customer experience.

The final day of GITEX Africa 2026, captured the essence of a continent accelerating its digital transformation, with key announcements, partnerships, and visionary insights setting the tone for what comes next.
