Barcelona to Skip Major Signings in 2026 as Laporta Trusts La Masia

Rabat – FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta has confirmed that the club will not undergo major changes during the 2026-27 summer transfer window.

In an interview with Món Esport (according to Mundo Deportivo) on Friday, Laporta said that FC Barcelona are focusing on keeping their squad stable, with plans to reinforce the team by integrating young players from La Masia to boost overall performance.

“We don’t need to go to the market for the sake of going and we must continue to look at what we have at home to, if necessary, improve the squad,” Laporta said. “I understand that we will improve in all aspects, but I must say that what I think should be done after getting such a competitive team is to maintain it and consolidate it.”

He added that, in his view, building a competitive team requires stability rather than constant change. New signings will be limited to specific requests from the coaching staff, targeting one or two players at most to strengthen key positions in the current squad.

“We will only sign if the management team asks us for a player or two who can reinforce this great team we have.”

Looking ahead, Laporta explained, Barcelona are aiming to strengthen the team by including the next generation from La Masia to help the club compete at the highest level.

He stressed his strong confidence that the academy can supply the first team with the players it needs, concluding: “I believe in La Masia. I focused on it during my first tenure. “The best version of Barcelona in history was when we had a core of our homegrown players alongside top-tier talent who came from outside.”
