Agadir – The Moroccan Society of Tourism Engineering is promoting the investment potential in Morocco’s tourism sector at the International Hospitality Investment Forum 2026, which is taking place in Berlin from March 23 to 25.

Representing Morocco at the forum is a delegation of its national investors and a team from the Moroccan Society of Tourism Engineering.

Morocco is seeking to leverage its participation at the global meeting for the hospitality industry to consolidate its position as a key tourism and hotel investment hub, the country’s news agency reported.

This strategy is part of a larger national vision that focuses on increasing visibility and attracting investment amid rising competition.

Morocco’s tourism industry has grown steadily in recent years, with the country boasting more than 300,000 beds and over 5,000 operational tourism establishments. According to SMIT, the country has been registering the opening of more than 100 hotels annually by developers.

These indicators point to increasing confidence in the fundamentals of Morocco’s tourism industry, with consistent demand and evolving hospitality infrastructure.

This momentum will most likely further accelerate with the preparations to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup, with the prospects of hosting the prestigious global tournament having already created a drive to improve infrastructure and increase available beds in accordance with national tourism development plans.

Beside promoting Morocco as an international destination for foreign tourists, authorities in the country’s hospitality industry are also encouraging its population to discover local sites.

The Moroccan National Tourism Office (OMNT) has announced the launch of a new domestic tourism campaign for Moroccans to visit local destinations as the spring season approaches.

ONMT’s announcement comes as part of a broader effort to build upon the sector’s significance performance, with Morocco reaching a record of 19.8 million international tourists in 2025, exceeding its targets before the scheduled period.

The “Ntla9awfbladna” campaign is meanwhile placing nature and discovery at the center of its strategy to boost domestic tourism, showcasing the richness of Morocco’s landscapes and highlighting a wide range of outdoor experiences.

ONMT hopes this campaign to rebalance the ecosystem of tourism by stimulating local demand and supporting emerging regions with significant development potential.

There was a “4% increase in domestic overnight stays in January, reaching 856,087 nights,” said ONMT Director General Achraf Fayda. “Some destinations are experiencing particularly strong growth, such as Ifrane (+74%), El Jadida (+48%), and Casablanca (+41%), reflecting a gradual diversification in destination choices.”
