Raja Protests Refereeing Decisions Against Ittihad Tangier

Rabat – Raja Casablanca has filed a complaint to Morocco’s refereeing directorate after their league match against Ittihad Tangier, played on Sunday in round 13 of the Botola Pro.

The club released a statement on Tuesday outlining its objections to specific refereeing calls.

The match ended with a 2-0 win for Raja, but the club insists that key decisions went against them. In particular, Raja pointed to an incident in the 55th minute, when the referee ruled an offside.

Technical data shows there was no offside position, the club lamented, stressing the referee’s decision was incorrect.

Raja also pointed to a challenge inside the penalty area that they believe should have resulted in a penalty kick. The club argued that the laws of the game clearly support awarding a spot‑kick in that situation.

In its statement, Raja explained that the protest is part of its responsibility to defend the team’s rights through official and legal channels.

The club sent a formal letter on Monday to the head of the national refereeing directorate, requesting detailed technical explanations of the disputed incidents.

Raja stressed that it expects clarification based on the procedures and rules that govern refereeing institutions.

The club’s move reflects growing frustration among Moroccan teams over refereeing standards in the domestic league. While Raja secured the three points against Tangier, the management insists that transparency and accountability in officiating are essential to protect the integrity of the competition.
