Casablanca – Local authorities in Larache Province have announced a phased plan to allow residents of Ksar El Kebir to return home beginning Sunday, February 15, following their temporary evacuation due to exceptional weather conditions that affected the region.

In a statement released today, officials said an integrated operational plan has been developed to ensure an organized and safe return.

The plan outlines designated transportation, approved access routes, and on-the-ground supervision measures aimed at ensuring the smooth implementation of the process and safeguarding residents.

The first phase of the return will apply to residents of several neighborhoods and residential clusters in Ksar El Kebir. These include Bab Al Oued and the Old Medina, as well as Gharsa Benjloun under the first administrative annex.

The decision also covers Al Sharia in the Old Medina under the second annex, and parts of Al Salam district, including groups D, E, and W. In the third administrative annex, the New District groups A and B are included.

Additional neighborhoods cleared for return are Al Nahda, Al Saada, Al Salama, the Old Military district, Al Massira, and Al Dukhan under the fourth annex, along with Al Orouba, Al Salam, and the New District under the fifth annex.

Al Shorafa, Al Manakib, and Abi Al Mahasin, under the sixth annex, are also part of the initial phase.

Authorities stated that free train services will operate from Tangier Ville railway station to Ksar El Kebir starting at 7 a.m. on Sunday. Buses will also be deployed from multiple points to transport residents free of charge in order to facilitate their return under suitable conditions.

Officials said further announcements will be made regarding additional areas and the scheduling of subsequent phases, depending on developments on the ground.

Residents have been urged not to return to areas not listed in the statement until official authorization is issued, pending the recession of water levels and the preparation of safe reception conditions.

Control points will be set up at entry points to the designated areas to ensure that access is limited to authorized residents, with the aim of maintaining order and safety throughout the operation.
