Rabat—Youssef En-Nesyri continued his promising start at Al Ittihad Club, scoring again as the Jeddah giants secured a 2–1 win over Al Fayha FC in the Saudi Pro League on Friday.
In his third appearance for Al Ittihad, the Moroccan international striker found the net in the 35th minute to break the deadlock at Al-Inma Stadium, converting a well-placed cross to give his side the lead.
Al Fayha leveled early in the second half through Fashion Sakala, but Al Ittihad regained the advantage late on when Hassan Kadesh struck the decisive goal to seal all three points.
En-Nesyri’s strike was his first Saudi Pro League goal for Al Ittihad and really drives home the impact he’s making already, especially considering all the hype surrounding his massive winter move to Saudi.
Momentum at home after continental goal
The league goal comes just days after En-Nesyri reached that milestone in continental competition. The 28-year-old scored his first goal in Al Ittihad colors during a huge 7–0 victory over Al-Gharafa SC in the AFC Champions League Elite.
He opened the scoring just three minutes into that match and later provided an assist in a dominant display. That performance quickly eased pressure following a quiet debut that had left sections of supporters questioning his immediate impact.
His response on the pitch has shifted the narrative.
Having joined on a long-term deal reportedly running until 2028 after spells with Sevilla FC and Fenerbahçe S.K., En-Nesyri arrived with significant expectations.
At 28 years old, he’s still a mainstay for the Moroccan national team, so finding his rhythm in Saudi Arabia is important, not just for Al Ittihad’s trophy hopes, but for his upcoming international duties too.
This latest win gives Al Ittihad a nice climb up the table as they build some serious momentum for the second half of the season.
