Rabat – Heavy rainfall and strong winds are expected to hit several provinces in Morocco until Thursday.
Heavy rainfall producing 60 and 95 milimeters are expected from Tuesday to Thursday at 12 a.m. in the provinces of Chefchaouen, Tetouan, and Larache.
The same weather with 40 and 60 millimeters is also expected in Taounate, Al Hoceima, Ouzzane, Sefrou, Taza, Fahs-Anjra, Tanger-Assilah, M’Diq-Fnideq, and Ifrane during the same period.
Strong wind gusts between 75 and 95 kilometers per hour are expected from Tuesday to Thursday at 12 a.m. in Chefchaouen, Berkane, Fahs-Anjram, Al Hoceima, Oujda-Angad, Nador, Guercif, Driouch, M’Diq-Findeq, Tetouan, Taourirt, Boulemane, Taza, Moulay Yacoub, and Tata.
The same weather will affect Ouarzazate, Figuig, Jerada, Ouezzane, Tanger-Assilah, Taroudant, Tiznit, Sidi Slimane, Sidi Kacem, Larache, Taounate, Tinghit, Kenitra, El Hajeb, Ifrane, Midelt, Meknes, Fez, and Sefrou.
Morocco has been witnessing a cold snap, with freezing temperatures, snowfall, and rainfall. The downpours contributed to Morocco’s agriculture and water reserves.
Dam reserves stand at 8.64 billion cubic meters, a national filling rate of 51.5%.
Stored volumes rose by nearly 3.9 billion cubic meters, an increase of 84.5% compared to the same period last year. Dams now hold almost twice the volume recorded a year ago.
