Rabat – Moroccan Olympic champion Soufiane El Bakkali has renewed his sponsorship contract with construction group TGCC.
This move secures continued support as the Moroccan athlete prepares for upcoming international competitions, including the next Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
The middle-distance runner and steeplechase champion confirmed the renewal in a public message, where he described the agreement as part of a broader effort to ensure stable conditions for his athletic preparation at the highest level.
“I am pleased to renew my contract with TGCC, represented by its president, Mr. Mohamed Bouzoubaa,” El Bakkali said.
He explained that the partnership looks to provide the resources needed to accompany his training and competitive schedule, with a clear focus on major global events.
“This renewal comes within the framework of providing the necessary support to accompany my preparations for international sporting competitions, foremost among them the upcoming Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles,” he stated.
El Bakkali also expressed appreciation for the continuity of the relationship, thanking TGCC and its leadership for what he described as sustained backing and lasting trust.
“My sincere thanks and appreciation go to TGCC and its president, Mr. Mohamed Bouzoubaa, for their continued support and constant confidence,” he said.
El Bakkali is one of Morocco’s most beloved athletes, admired for his remarkable achievements as well as his humility and dedication.
Born in 1996, he has risen to the top of the 3,000 meters steeplechase, winning Olympic gold at both Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024, and claiming consecutive World Championship titles in 2022 and 2023.
He also triumphed in the 2022 Diamond League, breaking Kenya’s long-standing dominance in the event.
