The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations officially shifted into celebration mode on Saturday night, as the OLM Souissi Fan Zone in Rabat hosted a major kickoff concert on the eve of the tournament’s opening match between Morocco and Comoros.
Thousands of fans turned out despite the cold weather, filling the venue with music, energy and anticipation.
A central meeting place for fans
The concert had a strong lineup of African and Moroccan artists, with Davido and French Montana headlining the show. They were joined on stage by Lartiste, Douaa Lahyaoui, and Says’z, the Comorian artist whose presence was a little symbolic touch ahead of his country’s opening match against the hosts.
Afro-urban beats, hip-hop and pop influences all alike, the performances kept the crowd singing and dancing late into the evening. A true celebration in the fan zone before the football starts today.
The OLM Souissi Fan Zone is one of the official fan zones set up for AFCON 2025to give fans a space to experience the tournament together. It is open until January 18, and fans can follow every match on the special zone’s dedicated giant screens, while also enjoying concerts and entertainment throughout the competition.
With this successful opening night, the Rabat fan zone has already established itself as an important gathering point.
The Atlas Lions are taking the field today and the vibes in Rabat suggest the country is ready, on and off the pitch.
