Achraf Hakimi’s Rehab in Spain Sparks Real Madrid Rumors

Rabat – Morocco star Achraf Hakimi has been spending more time in Spain lately as he recovers from an ankle injury. The Paris Saint-Germain right-back was spotted in Elche watching Real Madrid’s 2-2 draw.

A game where former Madrid academy players Febas and Alvaro Rodríguez scored for the home side. Hakimi’s presence drew attention because of his strong ties to Madrid, the club where he grew up and won the Champions League in 2018.

Hakimi has been receiving treatment at the Innova Clinic in Murcia, just an hour from Elche. The facility specializes in sports rehabilitation, and he works closely with Victor Salinas, a former professional who played for clubs such as Liverpool and Villarreal before becoming a respected physiotherapist.

Salinas has become Hakimi’s trusted guide during recovery, and their partnership has been key to his progress. PSG has allowed Hakimi to travel freely between Paris and Murcia, showing confidence in the process.

The injury came after a tough tackle by Luis Diaz in a Champions League clash against Bayern Munich. Despite the setback, Hakimi remains optimistic.

He was recently seen at the CAF awards, where he was honored as African Player of the Year 2025, moving around with a scooter to protect his ankle.

His goal is to return in time to lead Morocco at the Africa Cup of Nations, which will be hosted on home soil.

Hakimi’s visits to Madrid games have fueled speculation about a possible return to the club. His agent recently admitted that while Hakimi is happy at PSG, “football never follows a straight path” and Madrid will always be special to him.

Fans in France worry that his frequent trips to Spain signal future plans, but for now, Hakimi is under contract with PSG until 2029.

He originally joined PSG in 2021 after spells at Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan, where he proved himself as one of the best right-backs in the world.

For Madrid supporters, Hakimi’s presence at games is a reminder of what could have been. The club sold him in 2020 for €40 million, partly due to Dani Carvajal’s dominance in the position. Today, Hakimi is a global star, and while a reunion is uncertain, his connection to Madrid remains strong.
