Rabat — Moroccan star Ghizlane Chebbak was crowned CAF Women’s Player of the Year, receiving the award on stage from CAF President Patrice Motsepe and FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

The award crowns Chebbak as the continent’s Best Player of the Year.

As she collected her illustrious trophy, the player said this memorable victory reflects hard work and a lot of sacrifice.

Chebbak also extended her gratitude to King Mohammed VI support for sports.

She also thanked her team and all who supported her.

The Al Hilal FC midfielder thanked King Mohammed VI for his support and commitment to developing sport in Morocco.

She also expressed gratitude to her family for their constant support and dedicated the trophy to them, as well as to Federation President Fouzi Lekjaa.

Chebbak also thanked the organizers, saying she believes Morocco will become the best in the world, and delivered a message of inspiration to young players to believe in themselves.

Earlier this month, Morocco’s captain was named in the 2024–25 FIFPRO Women’s World XI, becoming the only African and Arab player included in this year’s line-up.

Her impressive season across Spain and Saudi Arabia, where she played for Badalona and Al Hila, learned the 35-year-old midfielder a place. Her performances and leadership have made her one of Africa’s most respected footballers.

She led the national team to the final of the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations and played in the 2023 Women’s World Cup.
