Ziyech to Make First Botola Appearance for Wydad Today

After months of anticipation, Hakim Ziyech is finally making his Botola Pro Inwi debut for Wydad AC today against Olympique Dcheira.

The Morocco international joined Wydad in October 2025 but had to wait for the winter transfer window to open before becoming eligible to compete in the national championship. Now cleared to play, Ziyech is expected to feature in Round 13 of the 2025–26 Botola Pro campaign.

He signed a contract with Wydad running until June 2027, which was a high-profile signing in Moroccan football after years in Europe and Turkey.

Ziyech took part in his first collective training session on November 1, 2025, officially beginning preparations with his new teammates. A day later, on November 2, he was presented to fans at the Stade Mohammed V on the sidelines of Wydad’s match against Ittihad Tanger, receiving a warm welcome from the crowd.

Although ineligible for Botola action until January 2026, Ziyech made his competitive debut on January 25, 2026, in the CAF Confederation Cup against AS Maniema Union.

Wydad secured a 1–0 victory, with Ziyech starting the match and playing around 75 to 77 minutes. His performance was closely watched, as fans assessed his rhythm and match sharpness after months without domestic competition.

Botola Pro Inwi debut at last

Despite training with the squad since November, league regulations prevented Ziyech from featuring in the Botola Pro Inwi until the winter transfer window officially opened in January.

Now eligible, his first appearance in Morocco’s top division is scheduled for tonight against Olympique Dcheira. All eyes will be on this match, as fans are excited to finally see how the veteran playmaker’s experience will shape Wydad’s domestic campaign in the second half of the season.

Ziyech’s inclusion to the XI could provide creativity and leadership as the club looks to strengthen its position in the standings.
